In Holy Quran, verse 4:79 ALLAH Almighty says:

What comes to you of good is from ALLAH, but what comes to you of evil, [O man], is from yourself. And We have sent you, [O Muhammad], to the people as a messenger, and sufficient is ALLAH as Witness.

Below we explain that how five pillars of Islam help in increasing the physical and spiritual health of its followers.

1. Imaan (Faith):

There cannot be religious stability in a person unless he expresses his faith in the authority of ALLAH Almighty and submits to His being the Creator of the whole Universe and the only Lord. When a follower has such type of belief, then all the difficulties and calamities that a follower faces show light as the follower is aware of the reality that ALLAH Almighty is on his side and ALLAH Almighty never lets those downwards who count on Him. Hence, the cause why a Muslim must never be negative even in the worst circumstances is the fact that he has faith in ALLAH Almighty and His Mercy.

2. Namaz (Prayer):

The second pillar of Islam is namaz. Besides being a religious compulsion that absolutely elevates the spiritual health, namaz also helps in increasing the physical health of a Muslim as well. Verse 10:57 of Holy Quran;

“O mankind! There has come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (disease) in your hearts- an for those who believe a guidance and mercy!”

3. Zakaat (Charity):

Islam gives the idea of Zakat (charity), which accurately means to cleanse or purify. Though it apparently purify the wealth of a person, but, on a deeper level it really cleanses the soul of an individual and decreases the affection for worldly money and wealth from the heart of a person.

4. Roza (Fasting):

Fasting is the 4th pillar of Islam, and by far the most excellent example of physical health for persons who are fond of lose weight and dieting. Besides being a spiritual obligation, fasting helps individual clean the body from all the impurities that build up in it because of eating all through the day.

5. Hajj:

The 5th pillar of Islam is Hajj, the actions that comprise hajj are both that improve the spiritual and physical health of a Muslim. The prayers, the Tawaaf of the Holy Kaaba, the running between hills of Safa and Marwa, all are the factors that boost the physical and spiritual health of a Muslim.
